Hello guys,
I've installed Nagios-2.9 and Centreon-1.4.1 in a Ubuntu Server and all looked like ok. I've added my hosts and some services in configuration but when I go to monitoring panel my hosts and services do not appear there.
Am I forgetting something?
May you help me?

The default view on the Monitoring page only shows Service problems. If you have none, nothing will show. Try "All Services" link on the left to see all services monitored.

Hi SeanFromIT,
I've just clicked in All Service but it still doesn't work. Nothing appears for me.
Completly weird.
I don't know more what to do...

When you click Configuration and it takes you to the Hosts page, does it list your hosts there? And if you click the Services tab, does it list them there?

In configuration section they appear to me without problem..
Only in Monitoring panel I don't get to see them..
I don't know what happens..
I've just tested in some distributions like ubuntu, centos, suse, and i've got the same issue.. :(
Have you ever installed the last version (1.4.1) of centreon in those distros that i said?

I have same versions on RedHat.
All installation and setup went fine.
Nagios is working properly.
Centreon-1.4.1 setup properly however there are few confusions.
when we imported the cfgs, hosts did not show up in monitoring area, services.cfg did not get imported at all.
We then just tried without importing any cfgs and setup couple of hosts and services. however none of them show up in monitoring interface.
Any ideas?

Ziggy, I can't get Centreon to work in the latest versions of Red Hat. At least not the Centreon' Views page. I switched to Debian which the Centreon' Views works on, but not the Reporting page. Seems like no matter which way you choose, something won't work :-)

I think if we had a proper structure of the Centreon posted here, we could troublshoot ourselves.
I dont know french otherwise we could go much faster in maturing this product. I can dig into cgi, php and ajax. just need some structure info to debug/troublshoot properly.
I cant see any error, php or otherwise. I need to locate which logs to tail to see whats going on.
Do you know if Centreon uses its database only? or does it still use nagios cfgs? I mean once it has imported everything from nagios, does it need to export again before it can start monitoring?

I've been working on some English documentation, but until I can solve the Reporting problem on Debian I didn't want to post it.
As far as external configuration, Centreon uses a MySQL database and a RRDtool database. There is also of course the text file that it stores its username/password in for the database. And yes, you must use the Export command on the Configuration-Nagios page in order to sync Centreon and Nagios. The key option to check Yes to on that page is "Move Export Files". You'll also be best off if you configure Nagios to check for External Commands once a minute and then you can restart Nagios from the Centreon interface on that page. If you do not restart Nagios from the Centreon interface, you run the risk of losing sync between your database configuration and your Nagios configuration (don't ask me why they wrote it this way!). Either way, Nagios must be restarted after an export so that it will reload the freshly moved configuration files.

Thanks for your feedback
"you must use the Export command on the Configuration-Nagios page in order to sync Centreon and Nagios" >> are you saying that Centreon will use nagios to monitor hosts? So every time we setup configurations in centreon we export these and restart nagios!!!??
Ok we will try this first thing in morning, i am not sure why centreon is not importing the services from nagios. The commands used in those services use nrpe. so normal ping would also start with nrpe command and other arguments and the way i oberserved here the services in centreon show one command per service with arguments. not sure if we can give subcommands in arguments area or not.
FYI: I did manage to translate half of the documentation on the Wiki using google translate, however i guess google has a cap on the how much transalation it will do in one go. the page is too long to translate via google.

Yeah, the French configuration document has that problem.
Centreon is only a front end to Nagios. It is not a Nagios replacement. So yes, any changes made in Centreon must be exported to Nagios. Nothing is automatic.
You can give arguments through Centreon. Add your check commands to Configuration-Commands and then the Configuration-Services has a box called "Args" when you're adding/editing a service.

I installed oreon-1.4 in a centos box yesterday, but the same issue occured. Weird.
Now, I'm going to try to install centreon-1.4.1 in fedora.. but I don't guess it will work.. and I really don't know what to do.. sadly! :-(

That makes sense. No more confusions. Actualy it is written nowhere that centreon needs to export the cfg files back to nagios to make it all work.
Squidy.. please explain the problem in detail. I dont think changing OS matters at all. If you have the pre-requisites installed it will all work fine.
We went through a number of steps before being able to make centreon work on RedHat Enterprise Linux 4. including pear libraries that simply refused to work.. but we have it all working fine now as it was all in the configuration. One thing that we made sure of was to not use RPMs. We have compiled all the packages from source.
We even used non-conventional names for nagios and used our own hierarchy for the applications installations.
We did not know that we needed to export the hosts from centreon so we will try that this week and get it going. We are also compiling a FAQ with screenshots for centreon as we move forward, i will share that with you guyz once its complete.8-)

Let me know if your Centreon' Views page works though...I've been down the RHEL/Fedora path and never could get it to work. Like I said, I switched to Debian and followed the Debian instructions and everything is fine except the Reporting page...

Hi Zyggy,
Well, I guess I've installed all the pre-requisites listed in the documentation.
The last guide I've followed is this: http://nagioswiki.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_Centreon_on_Centos_5
All installations and setup went fine, apparently.
I've installed the pear, perl and other modules and libs.. but the same issue occurs. I added some hosts and services, but they don't appear in monitoring interface. It's too weird. :-|
