I have been thinking about the operations I am monitoring and the tools used, I would really like to integrate monitoring, documentation, ticketing and business process management. I had thought of trying to get centreon to exist within another application that could do this but after a good night's sleep modules that could fit within Centreon to provide this service would be better.

I am gonna look into some packages that could be moduled in and also at the db structure. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Great Idea! I checked another product, Zenoss that works like Nagios but uses as its core a CMDB for the divices it monitors.

I think that Centreon can use something like OCS Inventory NG as a CMDB much like OSSIM (Open Source Information Security Manangement) http://www.ossim.net uses it to correlate info on Change Management.

I have been using GLPI http://glpi-project.org/?lang=en which is able to use Centreon.

I'm also very interested in a open-source CMBD wich could be integrated in Centreon

http://www.glpi-project.org/ looks very nice though.

I also found some Open Source CMDB Solutions
- http://www.cmdbuild.org/

We use OTRS for handling of our support tickets. (www.otrs.org)

Looked at GPLI and liked all of the work they did but would rather bring it's functionality into centreon rather than vice versa.

At this point I am busy with some projects at work but I wanted to look at this more this weekend, the other thing that I was kind of waiting on was the completion of version2 so that if any work was done on this it wouldn't be incompatible with the released version of Centreon 2.

Please check the forum for the new plugin of OCS2Cnet. A plugin was made so as to use OCS Inventory-NG into Centreon for CMDB and automatically adding hosts into Centreon.

Check it out and help if you can.
