Hi
When I was trouble shooting for the not receiving email -notification , I found that my
“ /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log” do not have any notification in it , while it has other details such as history , status , trends
I think if I am able to find out the reason , why there is no info of notification in nagios.log , I can solve my mail notification problem
Help requested
Thanks
Joseph John

The problem got solved
this is waht I did
enable "Active_checks_enabled :" in services.cfg ie on service definition
then
on select the service which you want notification , on the right side there i sOptions , => Status and Option , click it , U will find
different options like
Options

* Disabled checks of this service
* Re-schedule an imediate check of this service
* Re-schedule an imediate check of this service (forced)
* Submit passive check result for this service
* Stop accepting passive checks for this service
* Disabled notifications for this service
* Schedule downtime for this service
* Disabled event handler for this service
* flap detection for this service

then eable or disable the notification ,
Then generate the *.cfg file and restart nagios

check your notification command in miscommand.cfg

there is a workaround with \\ and gpc_magic_quote
