This is more and likely something to do with my configuration.
When I setup a new hosts or service I enable the notifcations but I do not get a email.
Right now I have one that is in critical state and get nothing. Is there something I missed during the initial setup that I overlooked? Right now I am looking at the critical service configuration and have this:
Notifications Enabled: Yes
Implied Contacts *: sjordan
Implied ContactGroups *: Supervisors
Notification Interval: 5
Notification Period: Work Hours
Got everything checked under Notification Type
