  • Service to check if a process is running on a remote host

    Hello,
I have nagios and oreon all setup and has been running for quite sometime, but I am not looking to monitor a process on a remote host. If someone could please help me out and let me know the best way to accomplish this, that would be great.

    Thanks!

    check_snmp_process.pl does work for me.

hint: if using the -u switch, use as well the -a switch when monitoring a multi-processor server.

That will let you monitor a process by name?

So say my process name is Report, I would use the check command check_snmp_process. What would I put in for the check command argument?

      Thanks!

        sure:

        $USER1$/check_snmp_process.pl -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -n Report -C public

Never mind, used nrpe and check_procs to finally get it going.

            Thanks for the help!
