  • Problems with Oreon Setup with user rights

    Hello,
I successfully installed Oreon on a Debian machine. But with installing Oreon on a Suse 9 Enterprise server I had problems with the user rights. After the installation I configured Oreon through the webbased setup with the recommended paths. On page 4 Oreon checks the user rights and the directory 'Writable directory for graphical traffic plugins' is not writable. There is a warning and I can't continue with the setup.
Does anyone of you know which directory Oreon tries to access, which path? I already gave the apache user writable access to the /usr/local/oreon and /usr/local/nagios directory.
    Can you please help me?

    Thank you,

    beneplenk

    hi
    can you execute:

    ls -l /usr/local/oreon/rrd

et give us what you see (by a screenshot or copy-paste)

    Nagios 3.2 + nagios-plugins-1.4.14

      Thanx for your fast response!

      Here is the output:

      [email protected]:~> ls -l /usr/local/oreon/rrd
      insgesamt 200
      -rwxrwxrwx 1 nagios nagios 203484 2005-11-22 22:57 16.rrd
      -rwxrwxrwx 1 nagios nagios 0 2005-10-20 15:57 index.htm

Oreon had problems with accessing the nagios config files, so I granted every user rwx rights although I know that it's not a good solution.

          Hi,

the user rights for /tmp are:

          drwxrwxrwt with owner root

Do you know where the directory for the "graphical traffic plugins" is? If I know that I just change the rights for this directory.

            /usr/local/oreon/rrd/
By now, it's the graphical plugins which take this path to put the rrd db.
