  • Add a second SMTP relay in case of crash of the first

    Morning,

    I use one of our Exchange server to relay the Centreon notification. This week end, this server crash. So, no mails from Centreon :-(...
    Is it possible to set a second SMTP relay in case of crash? Or is there a other solution?

    Thanks for your help.

    Centreon knows just which is your mailer, not the smarthost.

    If you use Postfix as the MTA, looking at your /etc/postfix/main.cf, your exchange server should be already specified with:
    "relayhost = host1.yourdomain.com"

    It should be enough to declare a second host with:
    "fallback_relay = host2.yourdomain.com".

    With postfix version >= 2.3 parameter is called "smtp_fallback_relay"

    Using SendMail, look at the /etc/mail/sendmail.cf, change the smart relay host declaration to:
    DShost1.yourdomain.com:host2.yourdomain.com

    Hope it helps
