  • Trouble Installation

    Hi,
    I have a Debian, apache2 running.
    At the end of Nagios's installation (install_nagios2.5_by_oreon-v1.tar.gz), when I say yes to restart Apache server, I should enter a password for Nagios, but I can't. Here is the message I got :
    Please enter your password for admin account (nagiosadmin)
    htpasswd2: cannot create file /usr/local/nagios/etc/htpasswd.users
    chmod: cannot access `/usr/local/nagios/etc/htpasswd.users': No such file or directory
    cp: cannot stat `/etc/init.d/nagios': No such file or directory
    ./install.sh: line 241: /tmp/nagios: No such file or directory

    As I didn't find anything through the forum, I hope someone can help me out.

    Thanks

    hi,

    It looks like nagios didn't install properly.
    have you checked the install log for eventual errors?

    the logfile should be in the log subdirectory of the source directory.

            assuming that you run all this as root, apparently the C compiler could be broken or missing something.

            Have you tried installing/reinstalling gcc make and g++ ?

            # apt-get install gcc make g++
