hey guys,
don't know what you're discussing that long. Nagios told you what the problem is:
"Running pre-flight check on configuration data...
Checking services...
Checked 7 services.
Checking hosts...
Checked 2 hosts.
Checking host groups..."
So, you have configured hosts and services and all the stuff, but you didn't told Oreon to WRITE the configuration in the directory where nagios needs them.
So: Go to Configuration->Nagios. Be sure, that you've choosen the right buttons:
Export Options
Generate Files Yes
Run Nagios debug (-v) Yes
Move Export Files Yes
Restart Nagios Yes
Reload
When you run the debug only (without Move Export Files to YES), then Oreon write the config to an other directory (oreon/generateFiles) and runs the nagios command to check it.
If you change the "Move Export Files" to YES, then Oreon will write your config to the nagios directory and that's it. If you want nagios to read in the NEW config, you have to choose the "Restart Nagios" Option.
And one thing is primitive:
when nagios runs with a config of a few hosts, then Oreon can only show you graphs of these few hosts.
To get more info about your running ODS, please have a look at your error_file and log_file of ODS and feel free to post them here ;-)
Greets,
Ira

I install Oreon 1.4 that was release on 29/03/2007, see here:

Has ODS 1.4 included on Oreon 1.4??
I understand how to create monitors. First I need to monitor hosts from Nagios, but i can`t create it from web interface, i need to create monitors on nagios editing config files.
to add hosts on oreon i go to "configuration" tab , "Hosts" option and add the host, after this i go to "id cards" tab and do manual update. Ok, after this i can see my hosts on "id cards" and their snmp informations, like "storage device", "description", "Running Processus", "software installed".
I would like to put my oreon to monitor my hosts, if some problem occurrs they send me mail and alarm (red) on the oreon web interface.
Put oreon to generate graphs for the process, net traffic, load, memory, and others.
And integrate oreon with Ntop.

I can't help you much as i don't use ODS for the moment and don't know how it works.
As i know, it stores in database some info and put other in rrd file.

Code:oreon:~# /etc/init.d/ods start Starting ODS Collector : ods_daemon Error : /usr/local/oreon/ODS/var/ods.pid already Exists. oreon:~#

Doubts about Hosts monitor
Hi all,
i have some questions/problems with administrate panel from oreon:
1 - I already have add many hosts on oreon for monitoring, see my "id cards" tab:
this hosts are ok, if i click then, i can see installed programs(only windows), process, host details, etc.
At The initial page on oreon (Home tab), i have two graphs like this image:
But at Hosts Status table (at the right top) i have only two hosts and 7 proccess:
And at the monitoring tab, show hosts that are monitoring, but the hosts that i have manually add do not appears.
