  • Oreon/Nagios Configuration

    All,

    I beieve to have had a successfull install of both Nagios and Oreon. I haved checked all logs for Oreon, Nagios, Apache and all looks fine. I have verified that all services are running as well. I started ODS but not sure if this is needed or not. I'm running Mysql and verified that the data placed into the web interface is in fact populating the database. I have verified that cronjobs for the Nagios user does exist. I ran through the Oreon 1.4.1 interface and verified that all configurtaions are pointing to the correct directory. The perfparse does not appear to be installed. Is this required? My question is that everything looks fine but when adding a host I receive no type of activity. I have attempted to add a host, service, contact, contact group but nothing seems to be happening. I ran through the export option which reports no problems. Is there a step by step guide in english that will walk me through on setting up at least one host and have it report successfully? I believe I have been through the most difficult part of installing but can't get what is probably the easist part to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    After you have added your hosts and services, and go to the nagios menu where you generate, are you selecting "Move Export Files = yes " and "restart nagios = yes" and below that choosing reload?

      Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
      directives and data defintions. If you are upgrading from a previous
      version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
      may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read
      the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
      'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.

        When you had finish your install, please check those params :

        - General options => Centreon
        - General options => Nagios
        - General options => SNMP
        - General options => Centreon Data Storage (ODS)
        - Configuration => Nagios

        Do not hesitate to validate each form, maybe an error will appear on something you don't think it could happen.

        Centreon work with Nagios 1.x (for no longer I think..), Nagios 2.x. That's all.
        We wanted to wait for a stable Nagios 3 release before make change on our engine, but I think Centreon 1.4.2 will manage Nagios 3.x

              probleme de generation de fichier

              ce post concerne toujours le meme probleme mais il me semble avoir cerner un peut mieux le detail
              le probleme a lieu lors de la generation des fichiers dans le repertoire :
              /usr/local/oreon/filesGeneration/nagiosCFG
              pour les fichiers : hosts.cfg, services, ...
              j ai fait le test suivant :
              j ai ajouter une commande (checkcommand) via l interface web de centreon, puis j ai applique cette deriere toujours avec l interface web dans configuration / nagios, le resultat est correct, ma commande est bien ecrite dans les fichiers :
              checkcommands.cfg des repertoires :
              /usr/local/oreon/filesGeneration/nagiosCFG
              /usr/local/nagios/etc
              => donc pas de pb de config (emplacement de repertoire) dans l interface web de nagios centreon
              => pas de probleme de transfert de fichiers
              si on prend hosts.cfg
              dans le repertoire :
              /usr/local/oreon/filesGeneration/nagiosCFG
              le fichier est vide mais la generation existe car
              j ai ecris dans ce fichier (quelques caracteres) puis j ai demander une nouvelle generation via l interface web => resultat mes caracteres ont disparus me laissant l'entete du fichier d'autogeneration donc le mecanisme me parait bon
              j ai telecharge la vm mis a dispo sur par un d'entre vous sur free.fr (ptre toi?) elle marche parfaitement pour cette partie, j ai compare les config via l interface web et je ne vois pas mon erreur avec la definitions des hosts, services , goup host , group services ...
              ai je un pb avec ma database?

              rom ŕ tu une idee

              merci
