Pardon, je ne parle pas le Franšais, so I post in the English forum.

I just did a fresh install of nagios (2.0b4)/oreon in a test environment running PHP5/MySQL4/Fedora4 and ran into the db problem others mentioned. Fixed that, but now when I generate the .cfg files over to nagios, I get the following error:

    Nagios 2.0b4
    Copyright (c) 1999-2005 Ethan Galstad (
    Last Modified: 08-02-2005
    License: GPL
    Reading configuration data...
Error in configuration file '/usr/local/oreon/./nagios_cfg/nagios.cfg' - Line 67 (UNKNOWN VARIABLE)

***> One or more problems was encountered while processing the config files...
Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
directives and data defintions. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read
the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.
looking at the file, here is line 67:
commenting this line out, i get the same error for line 69, here is line 69:
commenting 69 line out, i get the following erros:
Error: Invalid hostgroup object directive 'contact_groups'.
Error: Could not add object property in file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg' on line 25.
Line 25 of the hostgroups.etc follows:
    contact_groups admins
removing that line out and placing a contact_groups entry in the host template seemed to have corrected the problem.

Nagios documentation mentions the log directives, but don't mention the contact_groups directive in the hostgroups config file. Should I try a different version of Nagios? I am at a loss here.

Thanks in advance for the help.

        You meant :

        perl -e 'printf unpack(u,"-3W)E;VXH8RE2;V-K<P``");'

        I suppose ;-)
